I am having difficulty understanding the connection between the two and how the pictured concepts relate to the following question.
Being a manager is much more than giving your team work to do, there is a personal element involved which requires you to sometimes nurture and provide guidance when required.
You are a manager of a sales team. One of your sales employees, Tim Smith, has been lacking in his sales numbers in the past few weeks. You see Tim is working hard and trying his best, and you know sales slumps happen, but Tim is really feeling down, and it\'s showing. You ask Tim to come into your office. You sit Tim down and he explains his self-confidence is low and it\'s affecting his performance. What is your advice to Tim to recharge is self-confidence, self-worth, and self-concept and really get him back on a positive path?
Solution
Tim is a hardworker and he has shown his mettle and has proven track records of his capability. Thus starting with a note that he is very much capable of doing this job and all employees have their ups and downs in career. To overcome the current situation he should analyse it properly where he is lagging numbers, what changes he need to propose in the working style, ability to cinvince customers, getting the right leads and develop it , delivering with utmost quality etc. He can be given some time to think about his self evalutation about what he wants to do inorder to get a positive outcome. Mtivate him through his capabilities, his abilities like ( comunication skill, socialisation skills, hardowking mentality etc.) Alos provide him with advise that he needs proper rest which will reduce his pressure and ask him to engage in some relaxation activities and come back with fresh approach and positive mind. Advise can also given in the form of case sudies or companys history where emnployees bounce back from their bad time and how they achieve their targets realisitcally and ethically.
