let its speed=y distance=175 miles time=t

Speed of Plane =100 mph= z (Suppose)

Aeroplane with the wind= w+z=w+100
Aeroplane against the wind = w-z=w-100

Speed=Distance/Time

for Case-1-   

w+100=220/t

For Case-2

w-100=175/t

Solving by Elimination of variable we get the value of w and t
