A piece of an unknown solid which weighed 6.945g was placed in a 100 mL graduated cylinder contains 48.6mL of water. The volume in the cylinder increased to 57.9 mL. What is the density of the unknown solid? O 1.33 g/mL O 65 g/mL O 0.75 g/mL o 0.74 g/mL O 7.40 g/mL

Solution

answer : 0.75 g/mL

mass of unknown metal = 6.945 g

volume of cylinder = 100 mL

volume of water = 48.6 mL

volume of cylinder rise = 57.9 - 48.6 = 9.3 mL

density = mass / volume

            = 6.945 / 9.3

density = 0.75 g/ mL

 A piece of an unknown solid which weighed 6.945g was placed in a 100 mL graduated cylinder contains 48.6mL of water. The volume in the cylinder increased to 57
