Ethics is a system of moral principles and a set of values that keep check the individual behavior in the society. There are two types of ethics - universal ethics and situational ethics.

Universal ethics is a set of principles that apply to all human beings, whether secular or religious. It does not give any explanation for the existence of the universe. It does not deal with the concept of God. The right or wrong actions are independently of the social or personal values.

Weakness of universal ethics:

Situation ethics are based on a single point principle that enables man to enter every situation equipped with the experience of past situation. The right or wrong depends upon the situation. Each case is unique as there is no universal moral rules. The moral decision making is dependent on set of circumstances. It can easily be applied in a non- religious way.

Elements of situation ethics:

Situation ethics promote the well being of people. It is personal as moral decision is required to demonstrate respect for individuals and communities and it is particular because moral decision are on the basis of case by case and always tailored to a particular situation.
