2. Explain the e fect on your mass of chlorine that reacts with 1.00 gram of cop per (too hi too low, or no effect), if: a. some of the original sample had been lost between weighing and dissolving it b. not enough aluminum had been added to precipitate all the copper.
Solution
2a) As some mass of original sample had been lost therefore there will be less amount of reagent to react with copper
thus
the mass of chlorine that reacts with 1.00 g of copper will be too low.
b) As we can see that there will be no change in the amount of chlorine reacting
because
the amount of chlorine is same as there is precipitation of copper taking place in presence of aluminium but
the amount of copper will be same equal to 1.0 g
therefore
there will be no effect of it on the reaction process.
