Suppose managers in an organization decided to hand out tablets (iPad) to all salespeople without making any other formal changes in organizational strategy or business strategy. What might be the outcome? What unintended consequences might occur?

Solution

The salespeople do not use the tablet handed by the mangers. Without modifications and training to their jobs they would not like to use the tablet. They will do work manually or on paper. On the other hand other organization eventually feel problem in doing business, if they does not adopt new technology (tablet). Messaging will be ineffective. When someone use the tablet for order entry, but other process has not altered to accommodate the tablets there would might be delays and it results to get frustrated customers.
