A boxplot summarizes the data with minimum, maximum and the three quartiles.
In the above figure, it is evident that the median score for both Alexander and Scyrine are same - approximately 16 points.
On the other hand the dispersion of scores for the two players are widely different. Alexander\'s scores are a lot more dispersed than that of Scyrine. Also the minimum and maximum values for Alexander are far from each other. Whereas for Scyrine, they are closer to each other.
This clearly points out that Alexander, though having the highest score is not consistent i.e. his scores are not stable. On the other hand, Scyrine\'s score are stable as he has much lesser dispersion compared to Alexander.
Hence the coach should take Scyrine to the state championship as his score is very stable.
