An enzymes inhibitor binds the enzyme near but not at the ac
An enzyme’s inhibitor binds the enzyme near, but not at, the active site and blocks ittherefore not allowing the substrate access to the active site. What two inhibitory mechanismscould this inhibitor fall under? What other information would be needed to categorize theinhibitor’s mechanism under one of these mechanisms?

Solution
There could be mixed inhibition or competetive inhibition. In the former the substrate bind to allosteric site which is the site other than the active site whereas in latter, when an inhibitor binds to an active site on an enzyme it prevents the binding of the substrate and vice versa.
