Compare the assumptions of Theory X with those of Theory Y D

Compare the assumptions of Theory X with those of Theory Y. Do you believe that there are types of jobs that require one focus or another? Explain.

Solution

Theory x and theory y are two different employee motivational theories. Theory x is a more pessimistic approach where the employer believes that the employees are not talented and has no interest on work so they will impose themselves on the employees and be strict. They set rules and regulations and there will be no freedom to the employees. On the contrast theory y is the situation where the employer trusts their employees and will let them work freely and believes work will be done efficiently that way. Both the theories have pros and cons and for any job a combination of both the theories is required. This is because the work environment must be strict in some aspects like time and targets and must be free in some others. Only then the work will get completed and will be more than accurate.
