The radius of each wheel of an experimental rocket car is 16

The radius of each wheel of an experimental rocket car is 16 inches. If the wheels are turning at the rate of 120 revolutions per second, how fast is the car moving? Express your answer in feet per minute and in miles per hour. Express your answer with 2 decimal places and appropriate units.

Solution

Radius = R = 16 inches = 0.4064 m

Distance in one revolution = 2pi*R = 2.55 m

Distance in 120 revolution = 2.55*120 = 306 m

So speed of the car = 306 m/s = 60236.2 feet/min = 684.5 miles/hr

 The radius of each wheel of an experimental rocket car is 16 inches. If the wheels are turning at the rate of 120 revolutions per second, how fast is the car m
