What are tripartite G proteins
Solution
Tripartite G proteins are the G protein coupled receptors, these are a large family of cell membrane receptors which are linked to effectors such as enzymes/carrier proteins/channels. The receptor consists of 7membrane spanning helical segments of hydrophobic amino acids. The intervening segments connecting the helices from 3 loops on either side of the membrane. The amino terminus of the chain lies on extra cellular face and carboxylase terminus is on cytosolic side. They effected through the one or more GTP activated proteins.
