it takes 1.65 Kj of energy to heat a certain sample of pure silver from 12.0 C to 18.2 C. Calculate the mass of the sample of silver. Can you please explain how you answered this question so I can understand it on my final?

Solution

here we have

Initial temperature T1 = 12 C

Final temperature T2 = 18.2C

and we know tha

specific heat of sliver=0.240 J/gm

now we know Q=mC(T2-T1)

                        1.65*10^3=m(18.2-12)*0.240

                      m=1.108 kg anwser
