Why does microbial E. coli and S. aureus grow more as time passes in the chemical agent control: disinfectant experiment. (in 0 min there\'s a moderate amount whereas in 45 mins, the amount to bacterial growth is abundant).

Solution

Ans.) The chemical disinfectant (biocide) makes bacteria like E. coli and S. aureus resistant to them. This is due the lower concentration of disinfectant than the required for an optimal biocidal effect. These bacterial strains have ability to translate proteins that triggers some unusual toxic chemicals out of the cell to interfere with their antibacterial effect. Eventually, these proteins remove the antibiotic from the cell and become resistant to these chemical.

(Lower concentration of biocides causes manifestation of resistant mutant.)
