Mechanism: In live-attenuated vaccines, the disease causing ability of an microorganism is reduced in laboratory in such a way that it grows and divides but does not cause the disease. It is capable of providing immune response. For example BCG vaccine. The microorganisms like viruses are are attenuated through passage of organism through foreign host. This occurs through tissue culture, embryonated eggs and live animals.
