1. Exhibit 1.1 illustrates the focal point of the labor relations process and many variables that affect the process. Select an academic subjuct such as sociology, and indicate three specific ways the discipline could add insights into the labor relations process.

Sociology has direct relationship with labor relations process. These days are the era of technology and most of the work that labor do are replaced with machines. We hardly find labor inside any manifacturing concern as most of the processes are automated. In olden days of Industrial revolution, there were 1000 people in a manufacturing company against which today only 50 - 100 are employed. Moving ahead it becomes very important to have a good relationship with these minimal number of employees or else the management and the labors will be isolated. Three specific ways by which sociology can gain insights into labor relations process are as follows:
1. Having one-on-one interaction with the employees atleast on a quarterly basis - this should be a process and should be made mandatory in an organization. A top management official should know the name of even the housekeeping person or the gate security in the company. This is where sociology will begin. If a management official can find time to get along with his peers or sub-ordinates then he will be able to get things done easily.
2. Strengthening the HR department - HR department plays a very crucial role in strenthening the Top Management and the Labors. They will be a bridge between the empoyees and the mangement. As they are responsible for implementing the labor-relations process and the enforcement of contracts, they play a very important role in labor relations process.
3. Having proper wage growth, bonus pay and overtime pay - Motivation is means by which productivity can be increased and monetary recognition is a means by which the managment can attract its labors by creating a trust between them. Idf the management earns profit, it should definitely give away some amount as bonus, this will make the employees or the labourers happy and make them binded to the organization. This will also strengthen the labor relations.
