I am organising a football match this weekend. There are 18 players in an 11 a-side team. The game is 80 minutes long with each player having to play the same amount of time. However, 2 of the 18 players will be goal keepers for 40 minutes each, and play outfield for the other 40 minutes. So, taking into consideration the two goal keepers, how many minutes should each of the 18 players be playing for?

There are 18 Players in an 11 a side team

The game duration is 80 mins

2 of the 18 players will be goal keepers for 40 minutes each, and play outfield for the other 40 minutes

So for 1st 40 mins 17 players in 10 a side team

And last 40 mins again 17 players in 10 a side team

So 40/17+40/17

=4.705 mins
