can the iodidecatalyzed decomposition of H202 occur by a sin
can the iodide-catalyzed decomposition of H202 occur by a single step mechanism? why or why not?
Solution
iodized catalyzed decomposition of H2O2 occur in two steps
H2O2+I-=H2O+OI-
H2O2+OI-=H2O+O2+I-
here iodine is a catalsyt ,in one step iodide is consumed and in another step iodide is produced.
so one step mechanism is not possible.
