Use a calculator to find theta to the nearest tenth of the d

Use a calculator to find theta to the nearest tenth of the degree, if 0 degree

Solution

sec()= -1.8663 and terminate in quadrant II

= arcsec(-1.8663) or 1/cos() = -1.8663 ==> cos() = 1/ -1.8663 ==>arccos(-1/1.8663)

Lets plug this in the calculator, make sure you are in degree mode since you want the answer to be in degrees

= arcsec(-1.8663) =122.399507408

this angle to the nearest tenth of a degree is 120. Notice however that 120 is in quad II, and the condition said we want a degree in quadrant III, we can do this applying the reference angle concept 270 - 120 = 150

= 150

 Use a calculator to find theta to the nearest tenth of the degree, if 0 degree Solutionsec()= -1.8663 and terminate in quadrant II = arcsec(-1.8663) or 1/cos()
