Solve the equation x2x 3 x2x 5 4x 1x 2 Select the corr

Solve the equation. x(2x - 3) + x(2x - 5) = (4x + 1)(x - 2) Select the correct choice below and, if necessary, fill in the answer box to complete your choice. A. The solution set is {}. B. The solution is all real numbers. C. There is no solution.

Solution

x(2x -3) +x(2x -5) = (4x+1)(x-2)

Expanding the brackets on both sides:

2x^2 -3x +2x^2 -5x = 4x^2 -8x +x -2

common term 4x^2 gets cancelled on both sides:

-8x = -7x -2

-x = -2

x = 2 Solution

 Solve the equation. x(2x - 3) + x(2x - 5) = (4x + 1)(x - 2) Select the correct choice below and, if necessary, fill in the answer box to complete your choice.
