We regularly allow beer companies to advertise across various mass media to promote their products, however, it is illegal to advertise cigarettes on television and has been for over 3 decades. Should this law be changed?

Solution

It wasn\'t about the negative effects of cigarettes and tobacco. It was the psychological effect of have large numbers of people think it\'s ok to smoke. The advantage of TV and radio ads for cigarettes was that they had budgets even larger than that of Coca-Cola. They were on the TV 24/7, or rather every commercial break. This exposure to content leads more and more people to \"just try it\".

The alcohol ads in the media tempt more of the youth to drink. The ads tempt one to drink with all of their regular exposure to their product. Constantly viewing something can almost subconsciously print it in your mind. During high school teenagers spend countless number of hours in front of some form of media whether cell phones, computers, or anything else that\'s new out.

I think there ought to be some changes in the law for alcohol.
