Just a few problems...

1. the 1.000 L flask was filled with gas from the experiment at an atmospheric pressure of 30.48 inches of Hg and a temperature of 25.4 degrees C. Find moles of gas in the flask.

2. After creating 1.000 L of gas, the mass loss of the iron nail was 1.511. How many moles of iron were converted to Fe3+?

3. After creating 1.000 L of gas, the mass loss of the iron nail was 1.544. How many moles of electrons left the iron?

Solution

1)PV=NRT

N=1.0186*1/0.0821*298.4 =0.04158

2)moles=1.511/58.845 =0.025677

3)moles of iron =1.544/58.845=0.026238

moles of electron = *moles of iron=0.078715
