A constant force (constant in both direction and magnitude) with magnitude of 2 N is acting on a 5 Kg object. By how much (give the magnitude) does the momentum of the object change over a period of 7 seconds? By how much does the speed change in the same time period? You may assume that there are no other forces acting on the object. Newton\'s 2^nd Law (recall problem 4 of homework 4) may be of use here.

Solution

momentum = Force*time

=> M = 2*7 = 14 kg.m/s

speed = momentum/mass = 14/5 = 2.8 m/s
