Find the currents flowing in the circuit in the figure below

Find the currents flowing in the circuit in the figure below. Use the direction of the currents as shown in the figure. Explicitly show how you follow the steps in the Problem-Solving Strategies for Series and Parallel Resistors. (Hint: For resistors in series, you may want to add the resistances since they have a common current.) 0.10 Rs 22 3S2 0.50 36 0.20 Ra Eg =6.0 V i 0.05 h Submit Answer Tries 0/1O 2 Submit Answer Tries 0/20 Submit Answer Tries 0/1O

Solution

using kcl at the junction a, i3=i2+i1

i1+i2-i3=0 -----------------(1)

apply kvl in the upper loop,

3i1-26+i1(0.1)+22i1-36i2-0.5i2+52=0

25.1i1-36.5i2=-26 -------------(2)

apply kvl in the lower loop,

-52+0.5i2+36i2+0.2i3+32+0.05i3-6+72i3=0

36.5i2+72.25i3=26 ---------------------(3)

solving equations (1),(2),(3), we get

i1=-0.532A

i2=0.347A

i2=0.185A
