Standard deviation shows how much variation there is from the\"average\" (mean). It may be thought of as the average difference ofthe scores from the mean of distribution, how far they are awayfrom the mean. A low standard deviation indicates that the datapoints tend to be very close to the mean, whereas high standard deviationindicates that the data are spread out over a large range ofvalues. If you have a standard deviation of zero this means that their isno difference between any of the values and the mean. Meaningthat all of the values in the sample are the same. Forexample the sample: 7,7,7,7 would have a mean of 7 and a standarddeviation of zero since none of the values are different than themean.
