All the taxes basically are passed down to consumers so high taxes means high prices which will reduce the consumption of fast food Unhealthy food will lead to unhealthy workforce which will lead to lesser production or less real GDP Eating unhealthy food leads to illness which means healthcare system has to sded more money. so it is fair that fast food companies pay more taxes. This increased revenue may help government to spend more on awareness programs on bad effects of obesity.
