The Treaty of Utrecht (1713) finally ended Spanish War of Succession and helped make Great Britain a global super-power. This Treaty of Utrecht regulated the Anglo-French commercial relations prior to the treaty of Eden. The two leading Mercantilist countries at that time were Britain and France who belied that; \"natural resources are limited, and the power of the nation depends on what portion of the world’s resources it acquires\" (Evan, 2014). The policies of mercantilism were relaxed in Europe leading to agreements and finally the Treaty of Eden that ended the economic war between France and Britain by setting up a system to reduce tariffs on the import of by either country.
