Solution

The equation of a line passes through the point (x1,y1) and with slope m is

        y-y1= m (x-x1)

Given that m = -1

               (x1,y1) = (3,1)

Hence,

y-y1= m (x-x1)

   y-1 = -1 (x-3)

y-1 = -x +3

     x + y -4 =0
