A person sitting on a Ferris wheel rises and falls as the wheel turns. Suppose that the person\'s height above ground is described by the following function. h(t)= 17.7+15.3 cos 1.6t In this equation, h(t) is the height above ground in meters, and t is the time in minutes. Find the following. If necessary, round to the nearest hundredth. Period of h: minutes Number of revolutions per minute: Minimum height above the ground: meters

Solution

given h(t)=17.7+15.3cos(1.6t)

period =2/1.6

period=3.93 minutes

number of revolutions per minute =1.6/(2)=0.25

minimum height abouve the ground =17.7-15.3=2.40 meters
