Will extinction be any different when the behavior is previo
Will extinction be any different when the behavior is previously reinforced on an intermittent schedule, compared to a continuous schedule (CRF)? Why or why not?
Solution
ContInuous reinforcement is useful for introducing new behaviours. Intermittent reinforcement schedules do not produce satiation levels. They therefore, help in producing higher response levels. Reason being that the organism craves for reward. Extinction becomes difficult under intermittent reinorcement as the animal cannot discriminate the extinction under intermittent response conditions. As a result, behaviour is maintained for a longer period.
