An abstract is made up of the following components:

1.Statement of the problem: Why do we care about the research? What “gap” is this research filling?

2.Research Question: What question were you trying to answer?

3.Methods: What did you actually do to get your results? What experiment(s) did you perform?

4.Results: What did you learn from conducting the experiments?

5.Conclusion/Implications: What are the larger implications of your findings, especially with respect to the “gap” you described above?

Pseudomonas putida flagella were examined. Also, changes in motile behavior in response to chemoattrac- tants were analyzed quantitatively by computer. Reversals in the rotation direction of bundles of polar flagella resulted in changes in swimming direction. Cells swimming in buffer changed direction once every 2 s on average, whereas cells exposed to the attractant benzoate changed direction an average of once every 10 s. The findings show that P. putida responds to temporal gradients of chemoattractant by suppressing changes in the direction of rotation of flagella.

Solution

Thanks for the question.

The numers of the above questions have been mentioned at the end of sentences below

Pseudomonas putida flagella were examined (3)

Also changes in motile behavior in response to chempattractants were analyzed quantitatively by computer (3)

Reversals in the rotation direction of bundles of polar flagella resulted in changes in swimming direction (4)

Cells swimming in buffer changes direction once every 2s on average, wheras cells exposed to the attractant benzoate changes direction an average of once evry 10s. (4)

The findings show that P.putida responds to temporal gradients of chemoattractant by supressing changes in the direction of rotation of flagella (5)

Thanks
