For a sensor that has a range of 0 - 10V, the manufacturer states that the linearity error is 10% of full scale and all other errors combined are 5% of reading. If you read a value of 5V, what is the uncertainty of the measured value?

Solution

>> As, linearity error = 10 % of full scale having range 0 - 10 V

>> Other errors are 5 % of reading

>> Now, our reading = 5 V

So, linearity error will be 10/2 = 5 % (because it is half reading now )

and, other errors are 5%

So, total errors = 5 + 5 = 10 %

So, Total error = (10/100)*5 = 0.5 V .................ANSWER..........

For a sensor that has a range of 0 - 10V, the manufacturer states that the linearity error is 10% of full scale and all other errors combined are 5% of reading
