Microbiology:
Do you think that microbes have effectively cleaned the oil from this catastrophic oil spill at this time, 7 years later? Do you think that microbes have been working to clean up the oil that has washed up on land? Do you think they are the same microbes that have been involved in the bioremediation of the spill in the deep ocean?

Yes, I think that the bacterial population has effectively cleaned up the catastrophic oil spills 7 years later. I think so because there is a significant difference between the levels of fluorescence which indicates the presence of certain elements like hydrocarbons that are the characteristics of an oil spill. Before the bacterial treatment, the hydrocarbon level was 139 which was brought down to 0.5 after the microbial treatment, it is also statistically significant when we compare the means of 2 data sets, showing that there is a significant reduction in the same.
Yes, the bacteria has been working on the oil spill near the shore as well because the cell density as well as the dissolved oxygen % has also increased on the shore where the depth is as low as 0- 200 metres,
these could be the same microbes as the continuous ocean currents would lead to mixing up of water and therefore the bacteria could grow without any prohibitions in the deep ocean as well as on the surface, they would differ bit in morphology because bacteria residing in deep oceans would be more adapted to high pressures as compared to the ones on the surface but they would essentially digest the same hydrocarbons which cause pollution after an oil spill.
