1. Cortisol: It is produced by adrenal gland (adrenal cortex). It raises the level of glucose in the blood by stimulating the liver to produce glucose from stored non-carbohydrate sources such as proteins and lipids and to release it into the blood.

2. Adrenaline (epinephrine): It is secreted by adrenal medulla on stimulation by a sympathetic nervous system for meeting an emergency or stress condition like injury, pain, fear, accident, fall in blood pressure etc. Hence called emergency hormone. It increases sugar level in the blood by stimulating glycogebolysis in liver and skeletal muscles. Hypersecretion of adrenaline causes hypertension, high level of sugar in blood and urine etc.
