What is perimeter 3 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 x cm SolutionWe will u

What is perimeter?

3 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 x (cm)

Solution

We will use the data from the graph given .

Let the three vertices be A,B and C and let the sides be

AB=a

BC=b

CA=c

To find the perimeter of the triangle we need to find a,b and c

clearly cordinates of A=(1,1) ,B=(7,0) and C=(5.5,5)

the length of a line segment given the end cordinates is = ((x1-x2)2+(y1-y2)2)1/2 where the end cordinates are (x1,y1) and (x2,y2)

Now

AB=a =6 cm

BC2 =b2= (7-5)2+(5.5-1)2 =24.25

=> BC=b=4.92 cm

CA2=c2=(5-1)2+(5.5-1)2 =36.25

=>CA=c=6.02 cm

Thus we have three sides

The perimeter is =a+b+c

=6+4.92+6.02

=16.94 cm (answer)
