Analysis Variance
Semester GPSs were collected for seven randomly chosen students in four majors at Oxnard University
Solution
The test hypothesis:
Ho: there is no difference in the mean GPA for the four majors. (i.e. null hypothesis)
Ha: there is a difference in the mean GPA for the four majors. (i.e. alternative hypothesis)
The test statistic is
F=3.52
The p-value of F test is 0.0304 (from F test)
Since the p-value is less than 0.05, we reject the null hypothesis.
So we can conclude that there is a difference in the mean GPA for the four majors.
