The following image contains a control system to fire an alarm. The control system is represented by everything except the alarm itself.

Find and identify:

i) The control system\'s single-point failures that will render it inoperable.

ii) The control system\'s single-point failures that will cause it to fire unintentionally.

Solution

i) if the firing switch doesn\'t operate or failure at power supply C then alarm doen\'t operate that is single point failure

ii)if the switch at one of the power supplies A or B struck i.e closed then alarm operates unintentionally even without fault
