Activity: An Activity is an application element that provides a screen with which users can communicate in order to dial the phone, capture a photo, send an email, or view a map. Every activity is given a window in which to copy its user interface.

Layout: It is defined as the visual structure for a user intreface like UI for an activity.The layout can be declared in two ways:

Intents: Intents in android are used to move from one activity to other. These are used to interact with the background services. The most important use of intents is, beginning of activities.

AVD: An AVD (Android Virtual Device) is an emmulator that allows the developers to to test the application by suggesting the real device capabilities. AVD can be designed by giving the hardware and software selections. AVD manager provides an simple way of creating and running the AVD with its graphical interface.
