Bernoullis Equation Problem Find Velocity of initial out of

Bernoulli\'s Equation Problem Find Velocity of initial out of water tower and velocity when the water hits the ground

Solution

Using bernoulli equation to find the out velocity.

P + (row * g * h) + (row* v^2 /2 ) = constant

using this for top open and hole position,

P_atm + ( 1000 x 9.81 x 5) + (1000 x 0 ) = P_atm + (1000 x 9.81 x 0) + (1000 x u^2 /2 )

49050 = 500u^2

u = 9.90 m/s. .........Ans ( Out velocity )

----------------------------------------

now using energy conservatuion to find final velocity when it hits ground.

PE + KE at hole position = PE + KE at ground point

(m x 9.81 x 30) + (m x 9.90^2 /2 ) = 0 + (m x v^2 / 2)

v^2 = 2 x9.81 x 30 + 9.90^2 = 686.61

v = 26.20 m/s
