Mitochondria were most likely acquire earlier than plastids in the evolution of eukaryotes. Give one piece of evidence in support of that statement?

Mitochondrial origin is monophyletic (from common ancestor). Their free living ancestors Cyanobacteria was in existence before proteobacteria and Cyanobacteria is much older in evolution.

Mitochondria present in all organisms who has Chloroplast but reverse is not true.

Case of endosymbiosis of a chloroplast like organelle (spheroid bodies) in the named diatom Rhopallodia gibba which already has a secondary plastid shows secondry endosymbiosis but this kind of any case is not reported for mitochondria.
