Acute enterocolitis: - It is a disease caused by various bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Enterohemorrhagic E.coli: - Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli is a subdivision of disease causing E. coli. which can cause diarrhea or hemorrhagic colitis in humans. It produces a toxin that is capable of killing intestinal cells by disrupting their protein synthesis and can ultimately lead to kidney damage, platelet aggregation, anemia, and death.
Typhoid fever: - It is an infection that is spread by contaminated food and drinks. Disease causing organism is Salmonella typhi. The illness is characterized by a headache, nausea, fever, and constipation or sometimes diarrhea.
Bacillary dysentery: - Also known as shigellosis, is a disease caused by poor hygiene. Bacillary dysentery is caused by a group of bacteria of the genus, Shigella which can cause intestinal inflammation and symptoms of gastroenteritis without dysentery.
Travelers diarrhea: - A disease often caused due to a new diet, traveling abroad, a change in climate, stress or due to lack of sleep. It is spread by contaminated food and drinks and is characterized by the passage of three or more loose motions in a day, accompanied by fever, abdominal cramps, nausea or vomiting.
