Every box of fluorinated toothpaste tells you to get medical
Every box of fluorinated toothpaste tells you to get medical help or call poison control right away if your swallow any of the toothpaste. The reason is that fluoride is toxic and causes many health problems. Should we continue to add fluoride to our drinking water? Why or why not? Do you feel all of the chemicals you are exposed to every day could affect your health? Why or why not?
Solution
Fluoride occurs naturally in ground water but in less quantities, usually below 0.3 ppm. This mineral helps to prevent tooth decay by topically binding to the tooth enamel. However, as cavities do not occur in all the people, water fluoridation is not required for all the people. And excess fluoridation causes toxicity in all the people equally. So, the opponents of pro-fluoridation argue that mass medication is unethical.
All the chemicals that enter into the body do not cause toxicity because our detoxification system (liver) neutralize them. But in excess quantities, most of the chemicals are likely to cause toxicity.
