Fossils are defined as preserved remains of organisms (plants or animals) in the sedimentary rocks, the process of fossil formation is known as fossilization. There are some important conditions for successful fossilization such as:

1.      The dead organism should be kept away from exposure to bacteria or oxygen and should get burial quickly after the death.

2.      The burial place must be mineral rich so that the soft tissue after decay will be filled with the mineral matter (carbonates)
