If we temporary disruptbrake only the outer mitochondrial me
If we temporary disrupt/brake only the outer mitochondrial membrane, how would electron transport and ATP synthesis be affected during this period?
Solution
~ Loss of outer membrane permeability affects :-
(i) results in the accumulation of stored metabolic energy within the intermembrane space in the form of creatine phosphate,
(ii) is prevented by the outer mitochondrial membrane proteins Bcl-xL and Bcl-2,
(iii) can be reversed by growth factor readdition.
