Arrange in order the events that occur in the production of a fever of 39.4 C (103 F) and recovery from this state

A.39.4 C the temperature is reached and maintained

B.Prostaglandins (PGs) cause the hypothlmic thermostat to be reset from normal 37.5 C (98.6 F) to a higher temperature such as 39.4 C (103 F)

C.Vasocostriction and shivering occur as heat is conserved in order to raise body temperature to the 39.4 C (103 F) level directed by hypothalamus

D.Sourse of pyrogens is removed ( for example bacteria are killed by antibiotics )lowering phytoalamic thermostat to 37.5 C (98.6 F)

E.Crisis occurs .Obeying hypothalamic orders the body shifts to heat loss mechanism such as sweating and vasodilation returning body temperature to normal.

F.Infectious organism cause phagocytes to release interleukin-1 which the causes hypothalamic release of PGs.

Solution

First step(F) in development of fever during an infection is invasion of pathogen/toxin/antigen into the body and in response to that WBC comes in action causng phagocytosis. the pathogen interacts with these phagocytic cells and release acute phase proteins uch as interleukin-1 which activates other immune cells to come in action against the foreign particle(pathogen/toxin/antigen) and causes the release of prostaglandins.

Second step(B) because most of human pathogens survives best in human body temperature that is 37.5 degree centigrade, next action of human immune response is to increase body temperature to deactivate bacterial metabolism which acts best at 37.5 degree centigrade. prostaglandins thus cause hypothalamus thermostat to shift its normal body temperature to higher temperature such as 39.4 C.

Third Step(C) to raise body temperatures vasoconstriction occurs in which blood vessel constricts and blood flow to other body parts decrease thus, heat loss is saved and used in raising the body temperature instead. decreased blood flow to other parts of the body makes the body to shiver as heat loss is prevented.

Fourth step(A) due to vasoconstriction, decreased blood flow through arteries cause sufficient increase in body temperature and this temperature is maintained by hypothalamus.

Fifth step(D) as pyrogens(cause of fever such as bacteria) are removed after using antibiotics, PG secretion decreases which render hypothalamus thermostat to lower body temperature.

Sixth Step(E) as PG levels decreases hypothalamus orders the body to hift yo heat loss mechanism in which vasodilation of blood vessels occurs, blood flow increase to other parts of body causing heat loss from the surface. the person returns to normal physiological temperature i.e. 37.5 degree centigrade.

so, the order of events starting from fever development to recovery state is:

F(START) < B < C < A < D < E(RECOVERY)

Arrange in order the events that occur in the production of a fever of 39.4 C (103 F) and recovery from this state A.39.4 C the temperature is reached and maint
