21 Write the pointslope form of the eqauation of the line sa

21.) Write the point-slope form of the eqauation of the line satisfying the conditions. Then use the point-slope form of the equation to write the slope-intercept form of the equation.

passing through (-4,-1) and (3,4)

Solution

given points (-4,-1) and (3,4)

the point-slope form of the eqauation is y - y0=m(x - x0)

slope m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (4 - (-4) )/ (3 - (-1)) = 8/4 = 2

y + 1 = 2(x + 4)
