Problem 3 (Radiation): A 20-cm-diameter sphere with a surface temperature of 150° C emits energy as a blackbody (perfect emitter). Find the total amount of radiation emitted by the sphere in 10 minutes.

Solution

Total Power emitted = 5.67 * 10^-8 * 4 * pi * 0.1^2 * (150 - 20)^4

                              = 2.035 W

Total Energy Emitted = 2.035 * 10 * 60    = 122.1 J
