Consider the following values of capacitance, inductance, and voltages and currents at a particular instant of time, within the circuit below. C1=C2 = 42 mF L3 = L4 = 234 mH vs(t) = 200 volts v1(t) = v2(t) = 69 volts i3(t) = i4(t) = 317 milliamps (mA) What is the total energy in millijoules (mJ) stored in L3 and L4 together at this time instant?

Solution

The energy stored in an Inductor is given by the formula =(1/2).L.I2

where L= inductance in H

and I=current passing through inductor in amperes.

now the current flowing through L3 and L4 is same =317 mA

L3=L4=234mH

total energy together WT=(say)=2X((1/2).L3.I32=L3.I32=(234m)*(317m)2=23.5144mJ

 Consider the following values of capacitance, inductance, and voltages and currents at a particular instant of time, within the circuit below. C1=C2 = 42 mF L3
