It is referred as thyrotoxic crisis, it is often acute and life threatening and a hypermetabolic state that is induced by excessive release of thyroid hormones in patients with thyrotoxicosis. It may be the starting of thyrotoxicosis in children, particularly neonates.As it is a fatal condition it is left untreated and inefficiently diagnosed, The disease state includes fever, tachycardia, hypertension, and neurological and gastrointestinal abnormalities, hypertension may be followed by heart failure that is related to hypotension and shock. Symptoms usually include chest pain, rapid heartbeat(palpitations), anxiety and irritability, shortness of breath, greatly increased body temperature, increased sweating, heart failure etc. A hyperthyroid patient must immediately seek medical care when he suffers from very high fever, rapid heart beats, confusion and disorientation, fatigue and exhaustion. It is diagnosed by taking the blood cell count, electrolyte level check, blood sugar level check, liver function check and thyroid hormone level checks. It is always fatigue and there is a need of immediate hospitalization of the patient.
