A sample of 40 women is obtained and their heights in inches

A sample of 40 women is obtained, and their heights (in inches) and pulse rates (in beats per minutes) are measured. The linear correlation coefficient is 0.202 and the equation of the regression line is

Solution

are you missing to post the data?? or remaining part of the question?post it and i will answer it!

bu i am telling you how to find the regression equation!

corelation coefficient = cov(x,y) / [ s.d(x)*(s.d(y) ]

and intercept = y-hat - ( slope* x-bar)

and slope = cov(x,y) / var(x)
= [ cov(x,y) / s.d(x) ] * [ s.d(y) / s.d(x) ]
= 0.202 *[ s.d(y) / s.d(x) ]

now we require data for, y-hat, x-bar, s.d(y) and s.d(x) !

A sample of 40 women is obtained, and their heights (in inches) and pulse rates (in beats per minutes) are measured. The linear correlation coefficient is 0.202
