Solution

Angela is suffering from Hypothyroidism i.e. too little production of the thyroid hormone by the thyroid gland. This may be due to an autoimmune diseases or insufficient intake of iodine or as a result of taking some particular drugs. Hypothyroidism in her case will result in: slowing of the body’s metabolic rate, feeling of tiredness, intolerance to cold temperatures, low heart rate, weight gain, decrease in appetite, poor memory, depression, stiffness of the muscles and infertility. This low level of the thyroid hormone in case of Angela is because of insufficient secretion of the Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) produced by the pituitary gland.

Based on the blood reports of Angela; she is unlikely to suffer from Goiter as in this case of hypothyroidism the only type of Goiter, the Hashimoto\'s disease; marked by low levels of thyroid hormone leading to an enlarged thyroid gland to compensate this low level along with elevated level of TSH; which stimulates the thyroid, causing the gland to enlarge. However in this case the TSH level is low so development of Goiter is not likely, (Mayoclinic)
